Shadow messages #2

Shadow Messages is a site-specific art installation aiming to encourage people to be more attentive to our surroundings even in such a common situation as waiting for the train. The project attempts to draw our attention to what is happening around us. The beauty of passing shadows and their transitory nature is easily overlooked because of our fast pace of life. With this installation Izabela Bołoz leaves short messages for people waiting for their trains. The text of each message consists of two parts. The first one is written down on the ground, the second one is revealed throughout the day as a shadow. As the sun is passing over the station, shadow words appear and slowly move on, at some point completing the message. The project is an exploration of shadows, passing time and communication in public space.
